Are You Saved?
A really rude question. There are too many problems with asking this question. It shows the ignorance of the person asking. That’s what makes it so rude. Now, if it is meant to be rude, it is a perfectly acceptable question. I used this question on a Jehovah’s Witness once. She was smiling and going on and on about the kingdom of Jehovah and how wonderful it all was that she had found the kingdom and how important it was to make sure we had the right kingdom, blah, blah, when I suddenly stopped her. "Are you saved?" I asked, rather rudely. She was quite taken aback, considering she thought she was making progress the last twenty minutes. "Why, no one knows until God judges them whether they are saved.", she said. I said, "Then what right do you have to stand there and tell me how to get saved? Why should I listen to someone who doesn’t know the results of their own product?" "I don’t have to be saved right now in order to tell you how to get saved.", she assured me. I persisted. "Yeah, but I want to know right now whether you’re right or wrong. Let me put it another way: What makes you confident you will be saved in the end, when you stand there before God?" "As I have been explaining, we must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of Jehovah and love him by obeying his commands. We must find the correct way to that kingdom while here on earth and hopefully not stray from the path.", she witnessed. "What path are you talking about?", I asked. "Like just what I have been saying for the last ten years of my life, the way shown to us by God’s appointed men, who have been told to proclaim Jehovah’s kingdom." "So," I said, "Do you think you have been proclaiming Jehovah’s kingdom for the last twenty minutes?" "Oh yes, absolutely!", she firmly affirmed. "I believe you are sadly mistaken. You have not spoken of God’s kingdom since you started.", I said. Rather affronted, she said, "That’s all I have been talking about and you, sir, must be kidding!" I finished up the conversation, "Listen carefully. I am going to show you how very wrong you are. You have stood there for twenty minutes and confidently asserted that you are a witness for Jehovah and his kingdom, and yet you have not mentioned once, not in the entire time since this door was opened, the Name of the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ the Son of God. You are correct, you are not saved, and I tell you that you are only insuring your damnation by spreading a false gospel." I don’t know if this saved her or not, but she left in a hurry, cursing. Anyone who goes beyond and does not stay in the doctrine of Christ, does not have God.. The one who stays in the doctrine, he has both the Father and the Son. If someone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into the house or give him any greeting, for he who greets him shares in his wicked work. read sister article - Chris Simonson We encourage you to email the author to prove or disprove, from the Scriptures, the intent, meaning, purpose or doctrine of this piece. email Chris |
