A Letter to a Pastor

Introduction: an email sent to a Christian pastor and the response:

Dear Brother in Christ,

Christ stands at the door and knocks. This message, if read in context, does not refer to the world but to the church. It is very important to open to him, but it is also very important not to open to strangers, to wolves, to those who come to rob and destroy.

Unfortunately, the pastors who have taken over the flock have not been doing a good job of protecting them. They are more interested in living a cushy life in America at the expense of the flock.

Are you one of these, or do you care enough about your own soul and the souls of those over whom you have been appointed to repent from your worldly ways? If you say you do not have this sin, then there is no place for repentance. I would be interested to know how you spend your time and money in feeding the flock. What percentage do you spend on your own worldly pleasures versus on the gospel?

Yes, it is very good to ask, "Who is this?" before opening the door to various doctrines that compromise the gospel: "Pick up your cross daily and follow me." Do you put your married life ahead of the plain command of the gospel? Do you contribute to the plunder of the American families by not speaking against the false gospels that put marriage before the gospel? These may be hard words to you, but they lead to everlasting life.

God bless - Chris

This is the pastor's reply:

(It is typically curt and smug. Instead of replying to the questions raised with true Christian concern, he uses the casual spirituality so often shown by the pop-Pentecostal church who have no time for serious apologetics.) It merely says....

"You are welcome to come and visit our church anytime and let the Holy Spirit answer those questions for you. Blessings "
